W. Moses Serwadda is a Ugandan musician, folklore specialist, and professor in Uganda, and this set contains stories from his personal and family collection. Stories and songs are an important part of teaching children in Africa, and this Book/CD set gives an idea of the richness of the story tradition in Zimbabwe with six complete folktales narrated in English and their songs in the Luganda language. Songs are part of the stories, sung on the CD by adults and children, and simple enough to be part of the lessons. A further 7 songs extend the repertoire and the students’ experience of these enchanting songs.
